Bindi!!

That is the face we get when Bindi is on. Yes, Camryn loves Bindi the Jungle Girl. As soon as she sees the tree house at the beginning of the show, she yells, "BINDI"!!!! Then, she proceeds to "sing along" to the theme song (in her own words, but ends the song appropriately when they yell Bindi!) and runs to her chair to watch the show. We aren't quite sure why she loves her so much, but we get to learn a lot about animals. Unfortunately, we have discovered that there are only a few episodes, so they air the same ones. She doesn't seem to mind! So, every day at 5:00, she is all about Bindi!!

Interestingly enough, she has another idol that she likes to watch when we get home from school. Just like she yells, "Bindi", she also yells, "Oprah"! Again, I have no idea why she likes Oprah, but she will sit and watch her for a while after school. She will ignore most kid's shows, but will watch Oprah. I think she is 1 1/2 going on 30! Ok, so that isn't entirely true. She has started to take some interest in the shows on Noggin. She likes Dora, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, Blue's Clues, and will also watch Sesame Street (pretty much only for Elmo). I know it sounds like we are turning her into a couch potato, but her TV watching time is actually pretty limited with her schedule. But, if she is going to pay attention to the TV, I would rather her learn from it!

Speaking of learning, she continues to amaze us. She has recently been able to recognize herself in pictures and calls herself "Mammen". If she has pigtails or a ponytail in the picture, she makes sure to tell us that she is "pretty". She has been able to count to 3 for a while now and we are working on counting higher. She also enjoys when we sing the ABC's and I can see her storing them in her head while we sing. And, as you saw in her video, she knows that there is a color called blue, but that is about it. I am sure the others will come in time! She is just so inquisitive and she soaks everything we do and say up like a sponge. Not to mention, she is repeating everything we say now - we need to be careful! She is talking up a storm herself and often gets frustrated when we don't know what she is saying. We try! Every day brings something new and exciting - she is truly awesome!

A mess!!

Since it is such a cold day outside, we decided to have fun inside with some finger paint! Camryn got art supplies from Steph for her birthday (thanks again, Steph!), but we hadn't been brave enough to get the finger paint out before now. It was so much fun! I wish we had done it sooner! She was a little hesitant at first to get her hands dirty, but got the hang of it rather quickly! She kept asking daddy to put more paint on her paper, especially blue! We now have two beautiful masterpieces to show for our fun time with the finger paints! If you are interested in her painting fun, you can watch the video. There is also a video of her riding her horse, Harley, while wearing her Harley doo rag she got from Pappy.

We are all on our way to being healthy again as well. Camryn is still taking her antibiotics and has her full energy, appetite, and personality back. I just hope it stays that way! I went to the doctor myself on Tuesday to find out that I had a sinus infection and bronchitis. Fun! Hopefully, with all of the medicine in this house, we will be healthy for a while!

Camryn actually made it through all 5 days of daycare last week. That is quite an accomplishment after the previous week! She even showed us all what a big girl she is now by sleeping on a mat during nap times. I never thought she would do it, but her teacher told us how proud Camryn was to be sleeping on a mat like her friends. I am glad that she is transitioning very well - she is such a big girl! She has been spending a lot of time in the 2 year old room lately and the teachers are very impressed with how she does with the bigger kids. They tell me she is very smart and handles herself well with their activities. I just don't want her to grow up too quickly!!

Speaking of daycare, she had a little accident there on Friday. You can see the nice bruise between her eyes in the picture. Apparently, she tripped over her teacher's foot and fell into the side of a table. She hit directly between her eyes on her nose, so I know that hurt!! She has been asking me all weekend to "tiss the boo boo." Poor thing looks like she lost a fight!

We are having a nice and relaxing long weekend. We are all home today from school for the holiday. Personally, I think all weekends should be 3 days long! Like I said before, it is bitterly cold outside, so we are enjoying family time inside. But, it will be back to work tomorrow. Ugh!

She's back!

Camryn is finally feeling better! Chris took her to the doctor yesterday - thank god we did. It turned out that she has a double ear infection. We knew the fever was there for a reason, so I am glad we took her when we did. I always worry about ear infections because I know their long-term effects and it frustrates me that she never shows any signs that her ears hurt. I guess that is a good thing, but it would be nice to know when she has them! Anyway, she now has 2 days worth of antibiotics in her and she is finally getting back to herself. It was a rough week for her with the stomach virus and now, ear infections. It is amazing how quickly she is getting back to normal now that she has medicine. I just hope it stays that way!!
We are having a good weekend so far. We all got out of the house together today for a little shopping trip. The sun was shining and it was good to be out. I wanted to be out and about to celebrate the 7th anniversary of my still being alive (sounds cheesy, I know). It is hard to believe that my accident was 7 years ago - I am just so thankful that I am still here and for everything that I have. I am truly blessed.

Sick, sick, and more sick

Well, the sickness continued from when I last wrote. It got REALLY bad on Sunday night - Camryn got "sick" in her bed 3 times during the night, so it was a long night of cleaning her up and lots of laundry. Camryn and I stayed home on Monday and were miserable together. It really started to hit me that day and I felt like I was going to die. I had to find enough energy to take care of her too. Needless to say, it was a rough day. We both slowly improved, but Chris stayed home with her on Tuesday and Wednesday as well just to make sure she was back to 100% before going back to school. I reluctantly made it to work both of those days. She was doing well the past 2 days, but developed a cold in that time. She finally went back to daycare this morning, but only made it about an hour. They called saying that she was running a slight fever and just wanted to give us a heads up. I knew it was just a matter of time, so I went to pick her up. So much for work today! Chris is staying home again tomorrow and we are going to try to get her a doctor's appointment. Enough is enough. We are both going to lose our jobs before the year is through. All I know is that the hour of daycare this morning was the most expensive hour of daycare ever since we already paid for this entire week and she hasn't been there!!

We did have a little break last night for Ella's 3rd birthday party. It is so hard to believe that these kids are growing up so fast!! Camryn was excited to be there at first, but she lost her energy rather quickly. It has been a rough week for her. Hopefully, it can only get better from here. I am praying for a healthy and happy weekend!!

An important job

Camryn has been given the first important job of her life. Gina and Paul called this morning and asked if she would be the flower girl in their wedding. She will be about 2 1/2 when they get married, so I hope she does well with her job. Camryn has no clue, but I am very excited about this. They just love her to pieces and I think it is awesome that they want her to be a part of their special day!

That phone call cheered me up this morning considering we are fighting some sickness. Camryn has had a bit of a stomach bug this weekend and I think she has passed it on to me. Oh well - we are tough girls and daddy is taking care of us.

We have been busy since I last wrote. Chris finished up the bathroom and it is beautiful. We had our New Year's Eve party and had a lot of fun. Too bad there was only one day between our party and going back to work! We all headed back to work and school on Wednesday - ugh. Somehow, only working 3 days felt longer than a full 5 day week!! We all dreaded going back, but we had to sooner or later.

Oh yeah, if you haven't already looked, we updated some pictures of Camryn on the website last night. Enjoy! And, I know it is a little late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
