Camryn met her first celebrity today. Well, actually it may be the first one that I have ever had a conversation with as well. Ok, maybe I wouldn't call him a celebrity, but he is on TV. We went to a Home Show in York for something to do and Faber Dewar was there from Trading Spaces. He was scheduled to do a little presentation on his carpentry work, so we decided to watch for a while. We got there before it was starting and he came down near us. He noticed Camryn in her stroller and came over to say hello. He asked us how old she was and told us he has a little boy of his own who just turned 3 a few days ago. He talked to us for a few minutes and told Camryn that she is a very pretty girl while he touched her cheek. She finally gave him a little smile when he said she was pretty. I guess she liked him after that because she watched him the whole time he did his presentation. Afterwards, we went up and got her first autographed picture. She didn't seem too impressed, but I was excited. He was a very nice guy and he enjoyed talking to Camryn.
This has been a good weekend so far. Chris and I went out last night on a "date" for Valentines Day. We had a team of 3 babysitters to watch Camryn. No, it doesn't take 3 people to watch her, but Chris' teacher friends all wanted to come together to play. Two of them are pregnant, so they are eager for the practice. Evidently, they kept her up way too late because she was having so much fun with them. We were hoping she would sleep in this morning, but we had no such luck. While Camryn had her own fun, Chris and I went to a hibachi grill Japanese restaurant (yum) and went ice skating. The baseball stadium in Lancaster has a skating rink in the winter, so we went to check it out. Chris has never been ice skating before in his life, but he did rather well. He has a huge knot on his elbow from several falls, but we both had a lot of fun. It felt good to be out.
Alright, we are going to watch a movie now that Camryn is in bed. I am trying not to think about the fact that the weekend is going by way too fast!!!
We got some new portraits of Camryn taken today. I wasn't sure how she was going to react considering that she runs from my camera at home. But, we wouldn't know until we tried. She was actually very good and seemed to enjoy posing. She was in a really good mood, so I am sure that helped. We ended up with a few good pictures that we got printed.
