Finally...New Pictures!

Yes, we finally updated the website this weekend with new pictures of Camryn. A few people have told us that we need to post new pictures, so I hope everyone is as excited as Camryn is in the picture! We have been meaning to do it for the past 2 weeks or so, but we never get around to actually doing it. We also started a page with our new master bathroom pictures, but we aren't finished yet. Yeah, I know, the bathroom was done in January...we are a little slow! Oh, and we finally fixed the problem with our main web page, so the dates on that page are now current. Enjoy the new pictures!!!

Easter Fun!

We hope everyone had a nice Easter - we did! We started the festivities on Friday evening by coloring eggs. Camryn really enjoyed making the eggs pretty colors. She was especially good at stirring and taking the eggs out with daddy. She took her job very seriously!! Of course, she was upset when we were all done, but she got over it pretty quickly.

On Saturday, we visited Chris' family in Greencastle. We haven't been there since Christmas, so it was nice to see everyone again. Camryn loved the fact that both houses we went to had cats! She spent a lot of her time figuring out where the cats were hiding. She didn't understand that they were hiding from the girl chasing them!! When she wasn't looking for the cat, she had fun playing with all of Madison's wonderful Dora toys. All was great until she got cranky from no nap (combined with some diaper issues - thanks to the antibiotics). We got that resolved and she fell asleep on me on the couch. She hasn't fallen asleep on me in ages, so I will admit that I enjoyed it! We let her sleep for a little while, but needed to get on the road. We figured she would sleep the whole way home, but she didn't sleep for one second!! We sang lots of Laurie Berkner to keep her happy and she seemed glad to get home. After a quick dinner and bath, she was out!

On Easter morning, she was excited to see a "bucket" in her room waiting for her to find eggs. We told her that the Easter Bunny hid the eggs for her to find and she immediately wanted to look outside to see if there was a bunny in the yard. I guess we will have to wait a while before she really gets the fun of the Easter Bunny or any other mythical holiday character. She started looking for eggs and kept screaming "another one!!!" when she would see one. It was so much fun to watch!! She also found her real Easter baskets (one from Grammy and one from the Easter Bunny) downstairs. She looked at them briefly before she continued to find eggs. When she was finally done finding the eggs, she found all sorts of goodies in her baskets. She got some candy, books, bubbles, Elmo Aquadoodle, an Elmo's World DVD, crayons, and money. And, later that day, she picked out a Mickey Mouse coloring book using a gift card from Pappy. All in all, I would say that she had a very good Easter with lots of loot. If you want to see her Easter fun, you can check our videos. Enjoy!

Margo Moo

Another trip to the doctor yesterday resulted in a new friend for Camryn. She had finished a course of antibiotics last week for bilateral ear infections, but her symptoms persisted and proceeded to get worse. It seems as if she always has a runny nose, so I wasn't really concerned about that, but her cough was getting worse and I wasn't convinced that her ears had cleared up. She never really shows us if her ears hurt, but she was having a hard time sleeping again, so I was worried that her ears were still infected. When I picked her up from daycare yesterday, she was extremely congested so I went home and called for an appointment for today. It turned out that they had an appointment open for 5:10 yesterday, so I decided to go. I am glad I went because it ended up being more than I had anticipated. Her ears were fine, but she has a sinus infection and she was wheezing. The doctor immediately wanted her put on a nebulizer. We did a treatment at the office and she actually cooperated (I never thought she would). But, Margo Moo (the nebulizer's name) is very child friendly - the creators definitely knew what they were doing! So, we went home with Margo Moo and a new antibiotic. Luckily, she likes the taste of the new antibiotic so we don't have to hold her down to take it or hide it in her yogurt. We have to do her breathing treatments 3 times a day for the next 7 days. She was wonderful for me this morning and insisted that she do it herself this afternoon. It amazes me. She propped her feet up and sat there for the entire 15 minutes for her treatment while holding her own mask. Hopefully, it will go this well for the next 7 days!! And, hopefully, the wheezing isn't a long term thing. The doctor told me that this doesn't mean that she has asthma or that she will have to do this again, but her little lungs are having a hard time right now while she is sick. And, my sister (a respiratory therapist) reassured me that it isn't necessarily a bad thing. She looks so pathetic during the treatments, but I know it makes her feel better. Camryn likes Margo, so I should be thankful for that!

Fun Filled Day!

Wow, this will be the second post in one weekend. What's up with that? But, we had so much fun yesterday that it warranted another post. Gina and Paul came for a quick visit this weekend. I had talked to her earlier in the week and she said they wanted to come and visit. We always love visitors, so we were excited. They came late Friday night (after Camryn was in bed) and we had a relaxing adult dinner. Then, on Saturday, we had an action packed day. We started by going to Shady Maple for a huge smorgasbord breakfast. It was great and we all left stuffed!!! From there, we stopped off at the Flower and Craft Warehouse for them to check out some wedding supplies. Then, we went into Lititz to visit Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery for a tour. It is America's first commercial pretzel bakery founded in 1861. We all learned how to twist pretzels with dough and went on the tour. Camryn had a blast making her own pretzel!
After that, it was time for us to go home and get a nap. It was actually time for Camryn to take a nap, but we all took one! After nap was over, we all got back in the car and drove to Hershey. We started at Zoo America so we could see all of the animals. It was a beautiful day, so it was wonderful to be outside. It was sunny and near 60 degrees - my favorite weather! Camryn wanted to be a big girl and walked the whole time while holding on to one of our hands. The zoo was a big hit for all of us!And, you can't visit Hershey without going to Chocolate World! So, after the zoo, we went to Chocolate World. This was Camryn's first trip to Chocolate World and LOVED the Great Amerian Chocolate Tour ride. She was wide-eyed the whole time we were on the ride. And, she loved her candy bar at the end!!
We went to dinner after that and didn't get home until after Camryn's bedtime. Even though we were off schedule for her, she was amazing and had a wonderful day. We all had such an awesome time and were sad that Gina and Paul had to leave to go home last night. They really enjoyed spending time with Camryn and got a kick out of all of the stuff she says and does. Plus, she loves when there are new people around for her to play with! It is nice when people come to visit - it makes us take advantage of the fun stuff we have to do around here!!! We had a low key day today so we are rested up to go back to work tomorrow. Thankfully, it is only a 3 day week for me! I am really looking forward to Easter break!!!

Spirit Week

Camryn had a fun week at school. It was "spirit week" where they had a different theme for each day. Here was the schedule:

Monday: Green day - wear green today
Tuesday: Mismatched sock day
Wednesday: Crazy outfit day
Thursday: Crazy hair day
Friday: Pajama day

Of course, I had to have her participate every day. I am used to these days in my own schools and I know the kids have a blast with it. So, she wore her St. Patrick's Day shirt on Monday with green socks and barrettes. She wore 2 different socks on Tuesday. Wednesday was fun and I apologized to her as I got her dressed that morning. Thank goodness we didn't have to go out in public with her dressed like that! As you can see from the picture below, she wasn't too happy about posing for a picture in her outfit!! We had fun on Thursday too. I put her hair in a mohawk with ponytails. She sat very still while I did her hair and loved looking at her "tails" in the mirror. She even posed saying "cheese" while I took pictures that morning. That is a new one for her! And, she was very happy on Friday morning when she got to wear her pajamas and slippers to school. I wish I could have done that!!! We had fun each day and look forward to spirit week next year!

Little update

I haven't written in a while, so I figured I would post a little something. First of all, hello from our new computer! We were trying to salvage our old desktop and it turned into us buying a new laptop. We both have computers for work, but I was tired of relying on it to do stuff at home. Up until a few weeks ago, we both had Apples. Well, that was until mine crashed and they gave me a new Dell. I never thought I would say it, but I missed my Apple!! So, after careful consideration and talking about our main purpose for our home computer, we decided to buy an Apple. I must say that I love it! Our next step is to figure out how to use it for our website because it has a different web builder. But, that will have to be a weekend project.

Now on to more important things. Camryn is sick yet again. We all started to come down with something on Friday night. It started small, but it just escalated for her. She woke up about every 1/2 hour both Friday and Saturday nights. That is absolutely not like her and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. But, she seemed fine during the day. After talking to my mom Sunday night about her sleeping issues, she said that is exactly what I did when I had ear infections as a baby. Yup - Chris took her to the doctor Monday morning and she has bilateral ear infections again. I guess the one thing she got from me (cause lord knows she looks nothing like me) are my chronic ear infections that I had as a child. It is just strange because this is the first time she ever gave us any indication that she had ear infections. So, she is back on an antibiotic, which means we are back to restraining her to get her to take it. What fun!

Fortunately, Camryn was feeling pretty good on Saturday, so Chris and I were able to keep our plans to go out. She had a lot of fun with Connor and Ella while we went out, but she was a tired girl when we picked her up. Too bad she wasn't able to sleep all night! And, that meant that we weren't sleeping either! But, she is feeling a little better each and every day and she was able to go back to daycare today. She even felt up to doing one of her favorite activities with me last night. She absolutely LOVES watching the birds and other animals in our backyard. We sat there for quite a while last night watching the birds at the bird feeder and a bunny who was helping itself to the seeds on the ground. As you can see from the picture above, she was concentrating very hard on the bunny!
