Bubble Bellies

I realized today that I can't resist buying fun toys at the store. I could say that I want them for Camryn, but that wouldn't be the entire truth. It seems as if Chris and I have just as much fun with the toys as she does!! Anyway, I was at the store today and decided to buy a Bubble Bellies bubble blower. Camryn really enjoys bubbles, so I figured this toy would be a big hit. I picked out the dog for her since she loves puppies. Puppies and bubbles - how could I go wrong?? Of course, she absolutely loved it. The only thing that would have made her happier would have been if she could pull the trigger AND chase the bubbles at the same time. She had a blast running around the backyard and would have stayed out there all night if we let her!!!

Blue/White 2008

Since the weather was beautiful, we made the trip to PSU for the Blue/White game yesterday. Camryn hasn't been there since Arts Fest last year, so we were really looking forward to taking her. A huge priority was to get an updated picture on the Lion, so that was our first stop. When I was a student, I swore I would never be one of those people standing in line just to get a picture on the Lion. I guess my priorities changed once I had a child because we waited in a fairly long line just to get a few pictures. Because there was such a long wait, we aimed to get just new family pictures. We tried to get Camryn by herself quickly, but that didn't turn out so well. I am just happy that we got a couple of good family pictures! After we left the lion, we went to meet up with some friends to tailgate. I forgot how relaxing it is just to sit outside of Beaver Stadium with friends! Camryn really enjoyed herself during the tailgate and took full advantage of all of the yummy food. We finally went into the game around halftime. By that point, Camryn was pretty tired, but she got her second wind inside the stadium. She was in awe of the people, the game, the Nittany Lion, and the Blue Band. At one point, she was even "cheering" to the people above us! I guess she wants to be a cheerleader some day! She also got very upset when I told her that we couldn't "go get the Lion" - she was ready to run onto the field to get him! That's my girl!! Also, while we were in the stadium, we met up with Rebecca for a little while. I haven't seen her since September, so I am glad I got to see her and she was amazed at how big Camryn has gotten. After we left the game, we went back out to tailgate a little more and then headed home. Camryn wasn't in her seat for more than 5 minutes and she was sound asleep! We were so proud of her - she was VERY good all day without a nap. It just goes to show that it is truly Happy Valley for everyone!! As always, you can check out the rest of our pictures on our website. Enjoy!!!

More Sharks!

We took a spontaneous field trip today. Well, ok, it was planned last night, but that is as spontaneous as we get these days. Anyway, we went to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ for something new to do. We have been to the aquarium in Baltimore, so we decided to check this one out. While it wasn't as nice as the one in Baltimore, we still had fun and they had a few things that Baltimore does not. There were more interactive touch tanks (Camryn wanted nothing to do with those), some hippos, and a shark tunnel to walk through. Camryn was semi-interested in the various fish displays and was absolutely terrified of some of the bigger fish. She loved seeing Nemo (who doesn't?) and wanted to count the fish she liked (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 7, 8, 10) in their tanks. Overall, she seemed to be enjoying herself. Since she was scared of a lot of the bigger fish, we assumed that she would have nothing to do with the sharks and the shark tunnel. Of course, yet again, we were wrong. She ran right up to the first shark window without any fear! From then on, she was mesmerized by all of the sharks swimming by. She would get so excited when one would get closer and she would yell, "here it comes!" When we went into the shark tunnel, she continued to watch for them and got excited every time one would swim by and say "more sharks!" Leave it to her to like the one fish in the entire place that would love to eat her!!! When we went to the gift shop, she ran right to the stuffed sharks and picked one out. She loves her new shark and he even took a nap with her when we got home! Oh, and mommy and daddy were glad to bring cheese steaks home from Jim's on South Street - yummy!!! Of course, I will try to post our pictures soon.

We have been enjoying absolutely beautiful weather here the past few days. Camryn loves being outside, so we have been spending time taking walks and playing in the back yard after school. On Thursday, we took her new bubbles out with us and I attempted to teach her to blow some bubbles. She tried really hard, but wound up putting the wand right up to her mouth and got a mouthful of soap. But, after a while, she started to get the hang of it. She was very proud of herself every time she managed to get a bubble out!!! We are just so glad that the weather is becoming nice and we can get outside. We are tired of being inside all of the time. Although, this nice weather makes me think that summer is coming sooner than it is. I can't wait!!!!

Playground Fun!!

We all spent a beautiful afternoon at a park near our house. We have gone to this park before, but Camryn was a little too young to enjoy it all at the time. But, today, she had a blast! She started out small with a little slide, but got more brave as time went on. She walked on a wobbly bridge, climbed to the top of a tower, did the zip line, climbed on a pirate ship, and loved the BIG slide off of the ship. Of course, she was extremely upset when we had to leave for dinner! It was so much fun watching her play and I will admit that Chris and I enjoyed being kids on the playground as well!!!

I am not sure how this happened, but I am extremely on top of things today and I have already posted pictures and a video of our fun afternoon. Check them out!!!

Gorgeous Evening

It was a little over 70 degrees today, but it was dreary for most of the day. But, when we were all home for the evening, the weather was perfect. It was sunny and warm. So, we went for a walk around the park across the street. Camryn LOVES being outside and she fought with all of her might when it was time to come in to go to bed. She kept saying, "this way!!!" while pointing away from the house. It was adorable and we would have loved to stay outside, but it was time for her to get some sleep. We just can't wait for the days to be nice all of the time so we can spend more time outside!

Camryn also made another trip to the doctor yesterday - yes, again. Her pediatrician told us to bring her back if her cough didn't improve or if she was still congested after her last round of antibiotics and nebulizer treatments. Well, she is still congested, so we took her back. This time, her ears were red and the doctor didn't like the fact that she is still congested in both her head and chest. So, we came home with yet another antibiotic and instructions to continue Margo Moo twice a day. And, on top of that, the pediatrician referred us to an ENT for a consult for tubes. She seems to think that her ears are causing all of these other problems. We knew that was coming sooner or later, so I can't even be upset about it. I figured it was inevitable, but I didn't expect it so soon. I remember (very vividly) getting tubes put in when I was 7, so I know it isn't a big deal and it helped me tremendously. So, if this is the route we have to take, I know it will be for the best. I called for an appointment, but they don't have an opening until May 2nd. So, we will wait patiently until then to see what the ENT says. And, we will pray that she makes it until then without any more problems!
